Hanoi, 22 Dec, 2010 – Today in Hanoi (Vietnam), Mr. Ramesh Singh, former CEO of international anti-poverty agency ActionAid gets awarded the Order of Friendship—the highest honor given by the Vietnamese State—for his contribution to fighting poverty in Vietnam. Mr. Singh was presented the award by Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO)’s President.
Hanoi- November 29, 2010. ActionAid International in Vietnam (AAV), in collaboration with the Center for Natural Resources and Environmental Studies (CRES), Vietnam National University, launches a the report of the research entitled “Losses and Damages - Impacts of Climate change on poor communities in Vietnam and their responses”. This research was conducted in Loc Ha district of Ha Tinh province and Nam Can district of Ca Mau province.

Ha Noi, 7 June 2010: Donors and Government need to commit sufficient resources to new poverty reduction programmes which recognise the new poverty line and the need for greater investment per capita into the poorest communes. This is one of the key recommendations in a report released today by ActionAid and Oxfam prior to the midterm Consultative Group meeting to be organised in Kien Giang province on 9-10 June.
